These last few days I’ve felt such a wide range of feelings… 😔😞😡😊🙏
Sadness, disappointment, anger, gratitude, and peacefulness have all moved through me and I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few along the way! 🌊🌪️
And as I write these lines I also notice my reticence to name anger in particular! And how often do we find ourselves marginalising our feelings and labelling them “good” or “bad” depending on their nature? 😕
We are not our feelings and yet they often have an important message for us. When we notice strong and powerful emotions rising in us, we are often tempted to numb them out, to stuff them down, to make them wrong or to simply ignore them. ❌🤐
So how about making friends with your feelings? 🤝💕
My Tantra and coaching work and personal journey have taught me the importance of processing my feelings. I know that if I don’t give myself room to feel, then the energy will remain held and stuck in my body in the form of blocks and wounds and so feel I truly must! In coaching we speak about e-motions as being energy-in-motion and so we absolutely need to allow this energy to be expressed so that it can transmute. 🔄💆♂️💆♀️
If you are reading this and could do with a safe, compassionate place to process intense feelings, feel free to reach out. I know how this is and I might well be able to support you via coaching and/or bodywork. 📩🙏
Staying with your feelings and allowing them to breathe is one of the most self-loving things we can do for ourselves. 💖
What feelings are moving through you today? 😊
And here’s a poem on the topic:
Feeling Through
When you don’t fight the feelings
Your heart becomes your sword
Your voice becomes your healing
Your vibrancy’s restored
Don’t have to let them rule you
Although they may be mixed
Just let them move on through
Not permanent or fixed
Acknowledging is dealing
Go of their own accord
When you don’t fight the feelings
Your heart becomes your sword 🗡️❤️
